General Services Administration Selects CertiPath's TrustMonitor Platform

RESTON, Va., Feb. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Driven by the ever-intensifying need for identity security, demand for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) based credentials has never been higher.  While increased reliance on high assurance identity credentials is a major benefit to physical and online security, it shines a light on the resiliency and accuracy of the trust network that underpins the credentials.  CertiPath's TrustMonitor ensures this resiliency by tracking the health and well-being of the federated trust infrastructure used to validate the Internet's highest assurance transactions.  GSA is leveraging TrustMonitor to ensure the health of its own identity issuance systems, and the health of the other participants in the federal trust fabric.  Chi Hickey, Director of Testing and Procurement, Identity Assurance and Trusted Access Division, Office of Government Wide Policy, stated:

"For the first time, we have real-time situational awareness of the Federal PKI Trust Community and an alert system that allows us to react to potential failures before they occur."

The Federal Trust Fabric is used to verify business critical components are authentic, reliable, and available, whether they are hosted internally or belong to an external member of the trust community. TrustMonitor provides the organization with access to both real-time and historic trend information going back a number of years.  Jeff Nigriny, President and Founder of CertiPath, explains in greater detail how the TrustMonitor tool cam to market.

"CertiPath is a member of the Trust Fabric just like GSA.  We developed this tool over a period of many years to provide real-time detection capabilities, improving our trust fabric management.  Two years ago we realized we had created a tool so powerful and robust, everyone could benefit from its detection and analysis features.  GSA, responsible for managing a significant portion of the trust fabric, saw that value and we are excited to have them as a customer and a partner in the monitoring of the trust fabric."
