SGS at Medical Devices Summit 2016: How to Overcome the Complexities of Medical Device Regulations


SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, will lead two roundtable discussions at the annual Medical Devices Summit 2016 to educate attendees on how they can bring their products to market quickly, while still ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards.

The Medical Devices Summit 2016, which runs from Feb. 8-10, 2016, at the Marriott Long Wharf in Boston, offers the bench-to-bedside boot camp every medical device and combination product professional needs.



Bob Burek, Global Medical Device Technical Manager at SGS North America, and David Schramm, EMC Manager at SGS, will co-moderate the two sessions:

  • Tuesday, February 9 - 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.: "IEC (News - Alert) 60601-1-2 4th Edition and Integration of Wireless Technology into Medical Devices"
  • Tuesday, February 9 - 4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: "Why 90% of electro-medical devices fail IEC 60601 series"

Burek has more than 20 years of experience working with medical device manufacturers and test laboratories in the areas of electrical and mechanical safety, risk management and regulatory compliance. Schramm specializes in EMC (News - Alert) and wireless testing for a wide range of devices, including medical. Both will also be available to answer any questions attendees may have on pre-evaluation of devices through testing, and more.
