Subbu Iyer Joins Riverbed as Chief Marketing Officer

Kennelly, Chairman and CEO. Iyer will focus on improving Riverbed's market position in existing and new markets, streamlining Riverbed's go-to-market approach, and increasing the relevance and recognition of the Riverbed brand in a time of rampant IT evolution as businesses go through a digital transformation and turn to next generation, software-defined networks. His responsibilities span corporate marketing and communications, web/digital marketing, strategic and solutions marketing, channel marketing, demand generation and campaigns, and global field marketing.

Iyer brings experience and leadership in global and product marketing, together with experience running a business with P&L responsibilities. He joins Riverbed from EMC (News - Alert), where he was Senior Vice President of Global Product Marketing and focused on storage, converged infrastructure, big data and hybrid cloud solutions.


Previously, he spent five years at HP Software in a variety of roles, including as a leader in HP's Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Business where he oversaw products, go-to-market and operations for a $1B software business. Before HP, he was CMO at OpenClovis (open source high availability and system management), and also held management positions at Oracle (News - Alert), VERITAS Software, and several startups in the software industry.

Iyer holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
