The screening will take place at Michigan Theater on February 9 at 7pm as part of the Science on Screen series. Following the screening, there will be a panel of women working in the technology industry sharing their thoughts on the current state of women in the industry and discussing ways to bring more women and minorities into it. The panel will include Annie Sullivan, Staff Software Engineer at Google, Sally Carson, Product Design Manager at Duo Security and former CEO f Pinocchio (now Filament), and Erika Carlson, Founder of Girl Develop It Detroit and board member of Hacker Fellows. The CODE documentary exposes the dearth of American female and minority software engineers and explores the reasons for this gender gap and digital divide. The film highlights breakthrough efforts that are producing more diverse programmers and shows how this critical gap can be closed. CODE asks, "What would society gain from having more women and minorities code and how do we get there?" "Technology continues to change the world," said Dug Song, CEO of Duo Security, "but when half the world is women, and they represent only a quarter of the technology industry is, we clearly have a problem. CODE takes an eye-opening look at the current state of the opportunities for women in tech and we hope it starts a dialogue in our community." About Duo Security
