Altia Systems to Showcase Its PanaCast 2 Panoramic-4K Real Time Video Camera at CES 2016

Altia Systems announced today that it will showcase its PanaCast® 2 Panoramic-4K video camera - a CES 2016 Innovation Award Honoree - at CES16 Unveiled on January 4 and in its meeting place in LVCC South Hall 2 from January 6-9.

PanaCast 2 is a Plug-and-Play USB Panoramic-4k (3840 X 1080 pixels) video camera system that delivers a State-of-the Art 180ยบ panoramic video stream in real-time, priced at $995. It addresses the two most significant roadblocks to implementation of a full AR (Augmented Reality)/VR (Virtual Reality) experience - visual distortion and latency - both which degrade user experience. PanaCast 2 uses multiple miniaturized high-resolution cameras to capture independent video streams and stitches them together in real time to produce 4K-quality video similar to the human eye with no fisheye distortion. Image processing is accomplished in less than 5ms, compared to the human brain's image processing time of up to 80ms. No time-consuming post processing is required which can take hours to complete. The result is a real-time natural visual experience. The PanaCast video camera system utilizes newly developed proprietary computer vision algorithms (33 patents filed).

Among the first commercial applications is group-to-group or group-to-one video communications focused on over 30 million huddle spaces being rapidly adopted by visual Millennials in the workplace. More than 80 enterprise companies and educational institutions have already deployed PanaCast 2 for business collaboration and global learning since its launch this September. Customers report up to a 4x increase in video collaboration, driving better outcomes faster.

Altia Systems' PanaCast 2 video camera will be showcased at the CES Unveiled media event on January 4 from 4:30-7:30 PM at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Altia Systems will have a Meeting Place at the Las Vegas Convention Center South 2 in MP# 25373 for demonstrations of the PanaCast 2 camera working with popular collaboration applications such as Microsoft® Skype® for Business, Skype®, Cisc® WebEx®, Google Hangouts®, Citrix (News - Alert)® GoToMeeting®, Vidyo®, Zoom®, Facebook Messenger, as well as its own PanaCast Experience software. Additionally, PanaCast 2 will be displayed at the Innovation Showcase in the Sands Expo for the duration of the show.
