Comcast Names New Vice President for California's South Bay and San Francisco Areas

LIVERMORE, Calif., Dec. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast has added its newest member to the California Technical Operations group, naming Jim Peelman as the new Area Vice President for the Southwest Bay. Peelman will report to Amy Lynch, Regional Vice President of Technical Operations for Comcast California.

"Peelman will be leading a unique area that sees firsthand growth and innovation from the launch of 2 Gig Internet speeds to Cloud DVR and the extension of Comcast's fiber network into new business parks around Silicon Valley."

Peelman will be overseeing all aspects of Comcast's operations in the Southwest Bay, including San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Monterey, Salinas and Santa Cruz areas. He recently served as the Senior Director of Technical Support for the National Customer Repair Team in Denver, Colorado. Peelman provided leadership for more than 300 employees in the National 911 Data Operations, Voice Support and National Escalations teams. In that role, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the repair team that supported all residential products and services in the Denver and Mount Laurel areas. Peelman replaces Michael Valentin who recently transferred to New Jersey to serve as Area Vice President for the Northeast Division.

Peelman began his career with Comcast in 2000 as an engineer where he later served as the Director of Operations in the Freedom Region as well as supporting Advanced Services for the Northeast Division. Peelman also serves as a Captain in the Army National Guard, and in 2011, he deployed to Iraq in a combat role as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.  He is currently serving as the Senior Instructor at the Officer Candidate School (OCS) for the Colorado Army National Guard. Peelman has served as a mentor for the C8 as well as QC2 Success mentoring programs.  He is an active member of NENA911, APCO International, SCTE, and ATIS. Peelman studied Business Communications at Rosemont College where he graduated Cum Laude. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Technology Management at Georgetown University.
