ICASI Expands its Trust Network as A10 Networks and VMware Join as General MembersThe Industry Consortium for Advancement of Security on the Internet (ICASI), a nonprofit association dedicated to enhancing global IT security by proactively driving excellence and innovation in security response, today announced an expansion of its trust network through the addition of A10 Networks and VMware as its newest General Members. "The addition of A10 Networks (News - Alert) and VMware to our organization is very much aligned with ICASI's long-standing goal of broadening its global reach as the pre-eminent forum for multi-stakeholder incident response," said Marie Steinmetz, president of ICASI and Director of Cyber Threat Management and Investigations at Intel (News - Alert). "The experiences and expertise of these two companies are a welcome addition to ICASI's deep trust network and will extend our capabilities in responding to critical and complex security issues." As General Members, A10 Networks and VMware will participate in the spectrum of ICASI activities, including its Unified Security Incident Response Plan (USIRP), a set of processes, procedures, and tools that allows member Security Incident Response Teams (SIRTs) to collaborate quickly and effectively to resolve complex, multi-stakeholder Internet security issues. ICASI is also a co-sponsor with FIRST of the Vulnerability Coordination SIG, which has a charter to develop and execute a strategy for improving vulnerability coordination globally.
