Ipswitch Adds Patrick MeLampy to the Board as an Independent Director

Ipswitch today announced the appointment of Patrick MeLampy, a serial entrepreneur and CTO who co-founded Acme Packet (News - Alert) (acquired by Oracle for $2.1B) and 128 Technology, to its board of directors. MeLampy will serve as an independent director, joining Ipswitch Founder and Chairman Roger Greene, Chief Executive Officer Joe Krivickas, and fellow independent director, Bob Steinkrauss, on the Ipswitch (News - Alert) board of directors.

MeLampy has driven market and product leadership at multiple successful companies in the high-tech and telecommunications industries. He has been awarded 35 patents in the IP Networking field. MeLampy co-founded Acme Packet and grew the company over 10 years to be the leader in the Session Border Control market with over 50 percent market share. Acme Packet had an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2006 and was acquired by Oracle (News - Alert) in 2013. In 2014, Patrick co-founded 18 Technology where he currently serves as the chief operating officer. MeLampy holds an MBA from Boston University and an engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

"Ipswitch is accelerating product innovation and delivering software that helps IT teams securely control their networks and business critical applications, making it a very exciting time to join its board of directors," said Patrick MeLampy. "Leveraging their track record as a software industry pioneer and 25,000 customers, the Ipswitch commitment to deliver innovation and leadership though powerful, yet easy to try and buy products is compelling."

"As the leading low-friction, high-velocity provider of software for IT teams, Ipswitch is poised for even greater success through Patrick's guidance stemming from a unique combination of sharp technical and business acumen," said Joe Krivickas, CEO at Ipswitch.
