Classy Launches App on the Salesforce AppExchange; Joins the Pledge 1% Movement

Classy, a leading community mobilization and fundraising platform for nonprofits and social enterprises, announced today that it has launched the Classy app on the Salesforce AppExchange. The app empowers social impact organizations of any size to manage and empower their supporter base in a more personal and meaningful way. In conjunction with the AppExchange announcement, Classy is also announcing that it has joined Pledge 1%, dedicating 1% of employee time and 1% of product to its nonprofit customers and the San Diego community where it is headquartered.

Key Features of the Classy App

The Classy app is available on the AppExchange at www.appexchange.com, and is already helping more than 200 social impact organizations run more efficiently and effectively - freeing them up to focus on the social problems they are solving.

The Classy app gives nonprofits the ability to sync their supporter data between Classy and Salesforce, including the Nonprofit Starter Pack and NGO Connect. It also enables organizations to:

  • Personalize their communication with supporters: By using the Classy app, organizations can communicate more personally with donors at every step of their relationship, increasing the value of their overall supporter communities.
  • Improve team communication and operations: By using the Classy app, organizations give their entire team access to real time donor and fundraiser data, increasing transparency and collaboration across departments.
  • Tie fundraising to impact: Organizations using Salesforce to track program impact will now have a direct way to tie fundraising campaigns to the impact that is generated.

Classy Joins Pledge 1%

Pledge 1% is a corporate philanthropy movement dedicated to making the community a key stakeholder in every business. Founded by the Salesforce Foundation, Atlassian, Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado, and Rally, Pledge 1% empowers companies to donate 1% of product, 1% of equity, 1% of profit or 1% of employee time to improve communities around the world.

Classy is dedicating 1% of its employee's time and 1% of its product back to its nonprofit customers and the San Diego community as part of joining the Pledge 1% movement. Classy employees will be given additional paid time off to volunteer wit social impact organizations using the Classy platform. Staff members will be able to use this time to get involved with any organization they are passionate about that leverages the Classy platform.

In addition, Classy will donate 1% of its product to its nonprofits around the world. One way Classy will accomplish this is by waiving transaction fees for every organization on its fundraising platform on #GivingTuesday each year, one of the largest days of giving worldwide. That will put more funding back in the hands of over 1,500 social impact organizations worldwide (and growing fast). The next #GivingTuesday will take place on December 1, 2015 and organizations can sign up on Classy.org at any point before this date to participate.

Comments on the News

"Integrating with the Salesforce AppExchange has helped our customers become higher performing impact organizations, and we're committed to giving our customers access to powerful, enterprise-class tools so they can operate more efficiently and focus more on solving important social problems," said Scot Chisholm, CEO and co-founder of Classy. "Our relationship with Salesforce goes beyond business, as well. The Salesforce Foundation is a natural partner for us as we have similar goals for promoting a culture social good not just internally, but around the world."

Earlier this summer, the Salesforce Foundation's president and co-founder, Suzanne DiBianca, joined Classy's advisory board as DiBianca shares Classy's passion for using technology to change the world.

"The Salesforce Foundation is dedicated to changing the way companies think about corporate philanthropy," said Suzanne DiBianca, president, Salesforce Foundation. "Today, we're excited that Classy is joining us in giving their resources back to the community. This is another great example of the power that business has to affect positive change."

"Having a seamless integration between Classy and Salesforce is absolutely transformational for any organization looking to be data-driven in their day-to-day strategy," said Jaclene Roshan (News - Alert), director of transparency and data innovation at Pencils of Promise. "By centralizing our fundraising data in real time we are able to set up triggers and reports for customized staff notifications, push new donors and fundraisers into automated email series for increased communication, and eliminate time spent on accounting in order to focus on those who are supporting our programs. It's a complete game changer for us."
