Deloitte University Press Launches MOOC on Artificial Intelligence

"Cognitive technologies: The real opportunities for business" examines artificial intelligence and its impact on businesses across industries. "AI aims to make machines perform tasks that only humans used to be able to do, and it is no longer just science fiction," said course instructor David Schatsky, senior manager, Deloitte LLP. "These technologies are prevalent today and can impact nearly every sector. Our goal is to help prepare executives to make informed decisions about various AI technologies such as machine learning, automation, and robotics, and their impact on organizations."

After completing this course, learners can be able to identify some of the most important cognitive technologies, recognize what they do and broadly understand how they work. The course aims to prepare learners to gauge suitable applications for each technology as well as ways to implement specific cognitive techologies and assess how they impact workers and the design of work.

"This course is uniquely valuable because it offers a framework for executives to understand the business implications of cognitive technologies," said Rajeev Ronanki, principal and leader of the cognitive computing practice at Deloitte Consulting LLP. "The course can prepare participants to engage in discussions and help them shape the cognitive technology strategy in their organization."

During the course, participants will learn from leading thinkers in the field including Professor Eric Nyberg, Professor and Director, Master's Program in Computational Data Science in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, and Tom Davenport, President's Distinguished Professor of Information Technology and Management at Babson College, a Fellow of the MIT Center for Digital Business, and senior advisor to Deloitte Analytics.

"Cognitive technologies: The real opportunities for business" is the second MOOC offering from Deloitte University Press and builds on the success of the first course, "3D opportunity: The course on additive manufacturing for business leaders." More than 13,000 people registered for 3D opportunity.

About the course
