NEW YORK, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in conjunction with the Taiwan Trade Center (TTC), held its highly successful 2nd annual 2015 Taiwan Excellence Product Showcase, a free to the public event, at the iconic Vanderbilt Hall located in Grand Central Terminal this past September, displaying over 65 Taiwan Excellence award winning brands and 160 products to thousands of attendees over a 4-day period.

The showcase, designed to provide attendees a chance to become acquainted with the newest technology, gadgets and exceptional products "Made In Taiwan," was a runaway success, attracting thousands of consumers daily to the venue.

The four-day showcase began with a VIP ribbon-cutting Opening Ceremony, with VIP keynote speakers Francis K.H. Liang, Chairman, The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Ambassador Paul Wen-Liang Chang, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), Claire McLeveighn, Vice President, International Trade and Investment, Global NY at Empire State Development and Bella Heule (Isabella) Executive Vice President, World Trade Centers Association (WTCA).  Other attending VIPs included Nancy Ploeger, President, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Lily Yeh, General Manager, LIULI, Joe Woulfe, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, FRANZ and James Yang, CEO, World Journal North America.

"New York City has its own reputation as a global hub for innovation, for diversity and for creativity," said Chairman Liang.  "We are very proud of the fact that we are here in New York City to exhibit our products with Taiwan Excellence."

The 2015 Taiwan Excellence Product Showcase featured daily performances from the world-renowned Dream Lab's Fembots, live product demonstrations from world-class bike companies Pacific Cycles and Tern Cycles and interactive digital games for consumers held by electronics gaming leaders Acer and Asus.  A daily raffle wa a highlight of the event, allowing guests and attendees the chance to win highlighted products from the showcase.



As of June 2015, the US Government via its official census reporting gave Taiwan a top-rank as number 9 out of 15 trading partners, with over $6.4 billion in bilateral trade, registered a second highest record volume and posted a healthy 5.67% on year growth. The US market is Taiwan's third exporting market and is creating an atmosphere to better help brands from Taiwan standout on a national level.

The United States represents the trend of consumer products into the future and our Excellence Showcase allows us to highlight Taiwan's contributions to those trends.  We share the similar culture and language background with China, but we have very strong alliances and relations with the West, which allows us to be key players in the international business world."
