Paris Retail Week - New "Brick and Click" Event's Success Makes Paris the Capital of Responsive Retail

Paris Retail Week closed its doors on September 23rd after an exciting event buzzing with content and communication. The event at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles brought together the E-Commerce Paris (12th event) and Digital(in)Store (1st event) shows to embody the bond between on- and offline retail.

31,500 professionals attended quality conferences and the E-Commerce Awards ceremony over the 3-day event.

Let's look back at the event sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Digital.

"The success of the first ever Paris Retail Week proves how relevant it is as it brings physical and online sales figures together. It's made its mark as the new event for modern and future retail in France and abroad.

"Innovation is everywhere making Paris the capital of connected retail. The borders between on- and offline sales are disappearing to form unified retail for the super-connected consumer," says Sophie Lubet, Retail Department Director of Comexposium.

6 points proving the event's success

• The E-Commerce Paris surface area was 10% bigger (sqm)

• 20% more exhibitors than the target set for the 1st Digital(in)Store show

Official launch by Martine Pinville, Secretary of State for Retail, Crafts, Consumerism and Social Economy

• Attendance by major market players e.g. FEVAD, Facebook, Twitter, Google, Alibaba, Whole Foods Market etc.

2 Store Tours to take the event outside the exhibition centre

• Broad media coverage with the event attended by TF1, France 2, M6, RTL etc.

Identifying innovative start-ups at Paris Retail Week

The E-Commerce Awards are well-known in the industry and highlight companies whose innovations help online retailers to grow. We see the E-Commerce Awards as recognition from a panel of experienced professionals," said Rémi Aubert and Alix de Sagazan, co-founders of AB Tasty.

The ceremony's audience were won over by SmartPixels, a young start-up in the future of POS.

"The Rookie of The Year award is a great driver which will help up boost our sales growth. We want to make the retail experience magical with digital," says Julien Berta, Founder of SmartPixels.
