The Red Dot: Best of the Best is awarded for groundbreaking design and is the top prize in the international Red Dot Award: Design oncept competition, reserved for the best work in each of 31 categories. In 2015, the competition received 4,680 entries from companies, design institutes, design teams, and individual designers in 61 countries; 39 entries were bestowed the "Best of the Best" award.

"The elegance and functionality of the 3-D Surgical Navigation System, as well as its ability to link other technologies in the operating suite together, flow directly from the rapidly evolving needs of the surgeon in the pursuit of optimal outcomes. It is a design conceived to advance sight-saving interventions in the new era of digital surgery. This international recognition will certainly increase professional interest in this innovative solution, while supporting both our search for new translational opportunities to address unmet medical needs through technology and our ability to continue attracting world class talent and partnerships to Cirle."

In 2014, Cirle granted Bausch + Lomb, a Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. company and a global leader in eye care, an exclusive license to commercialize the 3-D Surgical Navigation System for cataract surgery.
