Live Nation, the organizer of this event, tapped SignalShare to provide network infrastructure after several previous successful partnerships. Crew and tech teams spent two weeks building the network, which stretched from the "Rocky" steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the city center, providing Internet access for the crowd of over 800,000 spectators. The network included 400 wired media connections and hundreds of Wi-Fi ports to service media risers, where reporters from all over the world had gathered for the event.

SignalShare's network also facilitated security and technical operations, allowing event personnel to scan tickets, detect fraud and coordinate lighting and video.

"SignalShare has significant experience building temporary and permanent Wi-Fi infrastructure, and our experience with building high-density networks and consumer engagement solutions, as well as our proven track record in the event space made us a natural fit to provide services for this type of event," said Joe Costanzo, chief technology officer of SignalShare. "We couldn't be more honored to have our infrastructure serve as the backbone for Pope Francis' historic visit to Philadelphia."
