ELC 2015 Sets Out to Overcome Uncertainty of Today By Tackling Challenges of Tomorrow

The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC (News - Alert)) today announced the plenary session speakers and program agenda for the 25th Annual Executive Leadership Conference (ELC), the premier education and training event in the government information technology (IT) community. This year's event, themed "Government 2020: Imagine the Possibilities," brings together more than 850 government and industry leaders to imagine government's future, address its challenges, overcome uncertainty and inspire innovation. ELC 2015 takes place October 25-27, 2015 in Colonial Williamsburg, Va.

Tony Scott, federal chief information officer (CIO) of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), leads a diverse lineup of more than 60 experts from nearly 25 government agencies, industry and academia. This year's keynote speakers are U.S. Navy Captain (Ret.) L. David Marquet, author of Turn the Ship Around! A True Story of Turning Followers Into Leaders, and David Weinberger, author of Everything is Miscellaneous: The Power of the New Digital Disorder. They will share leadership insights and explore cutting-edge technologies shaping the future.

"This year's ELC is not to be missed. From Crowdversations and Jam Sessions to Instant Chats and the Challenge Zone, attendees will not only feel the energy, they'll be a part of the conversation," said ELC 2015 Government Chair Steve Cooper. "We all have a stake in the future, and ELC 2015 is the forum where you will have your voice heard on critical issues ranging from cybersecurity and shared services to open data and Network Services 2020."

New to this year's event, ELC 2015's Crowdversations spark engagement and lively discussions through knowledge share, rather than the knowledge push that often characterizes traditional conferences. Each session explores a unique subject with a total of nine distinct topics touching on everything from identity management and FITARA to the workforce of the future. Attendees have the opportunity to delve deeper into a number of Jam Sessions designed to continue the conversation in a smaller format. EC 2015 also includes a number of Instant Chats, spontaneous discussions inspired by social media and socialized through the ACT-IAC mobile app.

"The public sector is often marked by uncertainty and doubt, and this year's conference sets out to tackle current and future challenges head on," said ELC 2015 Industry Chair Tony Bardo. "We'll shift our focus from today to discuss the strategies needed to meet the challenges of 2020. ELC 2015 offers exciting new elements and countless opportunities for collaboration and innovation - something for everyone."
