Macnica Americas Demonstrates Sony's IP Live Production Interoperability Using Altera® FPGAs

Macnica Americas today announced that it has demonstrated a new IP core that shows interoperability with the Sony's IP Live production system operating in an Altera (News - Alert) FPGA. The core enables real-time transmission of video, audio, and metadata via standard IP networks. It supports forward error correction and essence independent SDI-IP mapping of IP Live work flows. It will allow customers to interoperate with Sony and other equipment implementing IP Live.

This new IP core, combined with SMPTE ST 2059 time sync IP and Sony's Low Latency Video Codec (LLVC) IP, will give end equipment manufacturersthe flexibility to support Sony's IP Live Production System with Altera Stratix^® V and Arria^® 10 FPGA families. Additionally, implementation on Altera FPGAs allows for dynamic re-configuration and field upgrades, for flexible and upgradeable deployments.
