Runtime Application Self Protection (RASP) Solutions Continue to Gain Traction

Prevoty, a leader in application security monitoring and protection for production applications, is showing marked momentum as Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP) continues to emerge as the most sophisticated weapon in application security.

A recent survey sponsored by Prevoty, found that 85 percent of developers believe that vulnerability remediation has a significant impact on the ability to release applications and features on schedule and on budget. As RASP becomes an attractive option for organizations coming to terms with the realities of application vulnerability backlogs, Prevoty's momentum has attracted additional team members who have all been at the forefront of application security for more than a decade.

The new additions to the Prevoty team include:

  • Roger Thornton, founder of Fortify, who joined Prevoty's Board of Directors
  • George Vukcevich, formerly with Fortify, who joins as Vice President of Sales
  • Chris Prevost, formerly with Fortify, who joins as Vice President of Solutions

In addition, Prevoty has announced a partnership with web security company WhiteHat Security, giving WhiteHat's Sentinel SaaS (News - Alert) platform customers the opportunity to mitigate identified application vulnerabilities automatically by seamlessly integrating with Prevoty's Application Monitoring and Protection (AMP) solution. Prevoty has also partnered with Splunk (News - Alert), giving users the ability to search, analyze and visualize a new layer of application data with the context of security data to help detect, respond to and prevent attacks.

"We are thrilled to se the industry embracing an evolved view of application security," said Julien Bellanger, co-founder and CEO of Prevoty. "Our customers understand that vulnerability remediation is a huge challenge. Prevoty is leading the charge in rethinking the way that application security works and hopes to continue building on this momentum and transforming the way companies identify and combat attacks."

Independent industry analyst firms such as Gartner, Forrester Research, 451 Research (News - Alert) and Aberdeen Group, have also weighed in on the changing landscape of application security and the momentum that Prevoty's solution has garnered.

  • 451 Research just released a 2015 Impact Report calling Prevoty a "no-brainer" and saying "little stands in the way … of Prevoty's technology becoming the industry standard."
  • Aberdeen (News - Alert) Group just released a Flash Forward Report entitled, "A New Approach to Enterprise Application Security" which focuses on RASP as a strong solution for today's evolving applications security needs.
  • Earlier this year, Gartner Group named Prevoty a 2015 Cool Vendor in Security Infrastructure Protection in its annual report (subscription required).
  • Also earlier this year, Forrester recommended that organizations "Seek New Innovation With Hybrid Analysis", Prevoty was included in its TechRadar™: Application Security (subscription required).

Furthermore Derek Brink, independent IT security analyst of Aberdeen Group, will host an security expert panel discussion in a webinar, "A New Approach to Enterprise Application Security (News - Alert)" solution on Thursday, September 10 at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. PT. The webinar will discuss modern approaches for protecting target-rich applications and their take on RASP (Runtime Application Self-Protection) as an emerging solution.
