Second Consecutive Year: NIC State Partners Sweep the Top 5 Best State Websites in the U.S.NIC Inc. This is the second consecutive year NIC state government partners took all of the Top 5 honors. The rankings were announced by the Center for Digital Government as part of its annual "Best of the Web" competition. For the second time in the state's history, Arkansas took top honors, ranking as the best state government website in the country. The official state website, http://www.arkansas.gov, was recognized for the innovative Gov2Go - a first-of-its-kind, personalized way for citizens to interact with government. Gov2Go is a proactive digital assistant that learns about its users then carefully curates and brings relevant government services and information to them on their computers, mobile devices and Apple (News - Alert) Watches. In 2014, Arkansas ranked third in the Best of the Web competition. Rounding out the Top 5 were Utah in second place, Indiana in third place, Mississippi in fourth place, and Texas in fifth place. NIC partner states of Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Oregon, and Rhode Island were recognized as finalists.
