Jeff Weiner, LinkedIn CEO, to Keynote Utah Technology Council 2015 Hall of Fame on Nov. 2


The Utah Technology Council (UTC) (http://www.utahtech.org) today announced that Jeff Weiner, CEO of LinkedIn (News - Alert), the world's largest and most powerful network of professionals, will keynote the 2015 Hall of Fame gala event. Now in its 17th year, the UTC Hall of Fame Celebration will take place November 2 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. This annual gathering of the technology industry will allow Utah's industry leaders to learn from Weiner about how he has led LinkedIn to its current level as a global $2.2 billion enterprise.

The event will induct Senator Orrin Hatch and business leaders Gretchen McClain and Will West into the UTC Hall of Fame. At this year's event, Senator Hatch will be the first lawmaker and McClain will be the first woman to be inducted into the UTC Hall of Fame in the program's 17-year history.

"Each year we work to surpass all prior years in delivering a keynote speaker who will inspire the increasingly large and dynamic group of leaders who attend the UTC Hall of Fame," said Richard R. Nelson, president and CEO of the UTC. "2015 will be no exception. Jeff Weiner is one of the most elite group of technology leaders in the world in attaining new heights in what the Internet and technology are able to help every executive and organization achieve. Prior HOF keynotes have included Marc Benioff of Salesforce.com; Shantanu Narayen of Adobe; Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com; John Chambers of Cisco; Eric Schmidt (News - Alert) of Google; Jerry Yang of Yahoo!; Steve Ballmer of Microsoft; Mark Hurd of Oracle; Paul Otellini of Intel andKevin Rollins of Dell.



Jeff Weiner joined LinkedIn in December of 2008. Under his leadership, LinkedIn has rapidly expanded its global platform to 24 languages and more than 30 offices around the world, grown its membership base to more than 380 million members and increased its revenue to $2.2 billion in 2014. Prior to LinkedIn, Weiner was an executive in residence at Accel Partners and Greylock Partners, where he advised the firms' consumer technology portfolio companies and evaluated new investment opportunities. He has also served as EVP of Yahoo!'s (News - Alert) Network Division, a business that generated $3 billion in annual revenue with more than 3,000 employees and responsibility for many of the company's consumer-facing and industry-leading products.

Prior to joining Yahoo! in 2001, Weiner spent more than six years at Warner Bros., where he helped oversee the company's online efforts and developed the initial business plan for Warner Bros. Online in 1994. In addition to LinkedIn, Weiner serves on the board of directors for Intuit (News - Alert), Inc., DonorsChoose.org and Malaria No More. He holds a BS in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
