Crowdsourcing the Future Takes Center Stage at ACT-IAC's 2015 Executive Leadership ConferenceThe American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC (News - Alert)) today announced the program agenda and keynote speakers for its 25th Annual Executive Leadership Conference (ELC). Titled "Government 2020: Imagine the Possibilities," the two-day premier training, education and leadership event will spark conversations among senior-level government and industry information technology (IT) executives about innovative ways to meet today's challenges and plan for the future of government. The event, which will be structured around "Crowdversations," will be held October 25 - 27, 2015, in Colonial Williamsburg, Va. "Emerging technology will continue to shake up the way government and industry interact in the coming years," said Steve Cooper, 2015 ELC government chair. "ELC 2015 will take a look at the transformations taking place in government and imagine a future in which cutting-edge tech allows us to move faster and deliver high-quality services in ways that were unimaginable a mere decade ago." The event's speakers and government-focused agenda feature leading experts from federal, academia, industry and the commercial world. 2015 ELC plenary speakers include US Navy Captain (Ret.) L. David Marquet, author of Turn the Ship Around! A True Story of Turning Followers Into Leaders, and David Weinberger, Ph.D., author of Everything is Miscellaneous: The Power of the New Digital Disorder. Marquet will share leadership insights gleaned from his career commanding the nuclear-powered submarine USS Santa Fe, while Weinberger will share his views from the cutting-edge of data management. ELC 2015 will take crowdsourcing to a new level with Crowdversations, a unique approach to sessions designed to spark livel discussions. The Crowdversations will provide participants with the opportunity for a dialogue-driven workshop surrounding nine distinct topics:
The event will focus on transformative technologies and service-delivery models that are enabling government to meet and exceed mission challenges with greater efficiency and effectiveness. ELC 2015 will explore the transformations currently taking place within the public sector, with a Challenge Zone where attendees will take on high-level issues in a case study format, such as digital services, government as integrator, open data, the DATA Act, optimizing customer engagement, technology supporting innovative management and more. "The public sector needs to capitalize on technological advances if it wants to keep up with citizens' future needs and expectations," said Tony Bardo, 2015 ELC industry chair. "ELC 2015 participants will have the opportunity to step outside the box and explore new ideas and techniques that have the potential to radically alter the way we do business."
