Encoding.com Launches the Reserved Cloud

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Encoding.com has introduced the first unlimited cloud based encoding plans. The Encoding.com Reserved Cloud offers an unmetered, single tenant pricing model. Reserved Instances provides broadcasters, original content programmers and video platform providers with a cost effective method for handling existing media processing requirements with automatic failover for spikes in usage. The service is an ideal solution for high volume enterprise media workflows.

"The Encoding.com Reserved Cloud fills a void in the cloud transcoding market where high volume customers outgrow a pure metered pricing mode for steady state volume but still value both processing content in public cloud datacenters and elastic capacity for peak volume." -Greggory Heil, CEO Encoding.com

Key benefits include:

-Unmetered Cloud Pricing Model
Customers pay a fixed monthly fee per Reserved Instance. They will have access to over 30 professional encoding engines which are always up-to-date and maintained with premium support and built-in codec licensing. The model can be offered as low as $1000 a month per instance.

-Integration with Amazon Reserved Instances
The service is integrated with Amazon Web Services, so customers can pay a fixed fee per month for 24/7/365 unlimited encoding on an AWS Reserved Instance in any of Amazon's nine MPAA certified global data centers. Customers have the option to choose the Encoding.com recommended AWS instance type or the AWS instance of their preference.

-Individual queue configuration control
The Cloud Reserved Instance model allows customers to enable automatic failover of their queue to the on-demand queue when the reserved instances are busy. If on-demand failover is enabled, customers can set the amount of time in seconds the job will sit in the queue before failover is triggered. They can also tune their encoding queue by configuring the number of concurrent jobs to send to a single 32 core reserved instance  and have access to full real time queue statistics. Customers can also directly send priority jobs to the Encoding.com public on-demand cloud for no queue processing within the same API workflow.
