Acciona Relies on CA Technologies to Help Reduce Risk and Address Compliance Needs for Critical Infrastructure Projects

CA Technologies (News - Alert) (NASDAQ:CA) today announced that Acciona, one of the leading infrastructure, renewable energy, water and services organizations in Spain, is relying on CA Identity and Access Management solutions to help minimize risk and address compliance requirements for its critical infrastructure projects around the world.

With current operations across more than 30 countries, Acciona leads dozens of global projects, many supporting critical infrastructure which makes security, compliance and controlling who has access to what a vital part of business. Acciona currently manages the identities of more than 7,000 internal employees and external supply chain partners, controlling their access to corporate applications and data. That number is expected to grow to almost 11,000.

"Our work impacts the critical infrastructure of nations globally. We cannot afford to have our own systems, sensitive data and intellectual property improperly accessed or breached," says Juan Ignacio Gordon, Security Director at Acciona. "We are taking an identity-centric approach to security and compliance. CA identity and access management solutions allow us to dynamically manage user identities and the changes around their roles, status and access rights. It also helps us address regulatory compliance mandates. The security and automation provided by CA security solutions give us confidence we are protected and have the agility to grow."

CA Identity Manager and CA Identity Governance, implemented by CA partner everis Group, a multinational consulting firm, provide a unified solution for user provisioning, as well as management of identities throughout their lifecycle. In addition, the CA solution provides governance, helping the customer to ensure that each user has only proper access rights, and that improper entitlements (such as segregation of duties violations) are identified and corrected quickly.

"The application economy thrives on the connections of people, devices and data, but those connections need to be secured - especially where critical infrastructures are concerned. Whether it's administrative systems controlling the operations of a facility, or a contractor, like Acciona, working on projects, any data and systems associated with those programs need to be protected," said Steve Firestone, senior vice president and general manager, CA Security. "CA's solutions help customers automate identity management projects, and address the security and compliance demands around assigning the right people the right access to corporate data."
