HelloDotMIAMI Announces Pre-registration of .MIAMI Domain NamesMIAMI, Aug. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HelloDotMIAMI – www.hellodotmiami.com – has announced the availability of pre-registrations of .MIAMI domain names. Starting today, anyone in Miami can apply for a .MIAMI domain name. .MIAMI domain names, websites with a ".MIAMI" ending will start to become available. According to the domain registrar, their site at www.hellodotmiami.com is ready to receive expressions of interest for .MIAMI domains. These domains will allow individuals and corporations to establish an online presence with a domain that ends in .MIAMI. In the following months we will start to see websites like www.travel.miami, www.hotels.miami, www.party.miami, etc. This new extension is part of a program being developed by ICANN to increase the number of possible domains. Other cities have already launched their domain names, including London, New York and Berlin. It is now time for Miami. Domain registations will be like existing .COM or .NET registrations but will appeal to the local market or to Miami-centric ventures. Individuals and corporations will be able to register a .MIAMI domain name and use those web addresses for their websites or for their email addresses. Some companies may choose to transition their actual websites to the new .MIAMI domain. Gerardo Aristizabal, Managing Director of HelloDotMIAMI says that they are expecting upwards of 25,0000 domain names in one year. According to the executive, right now they are only receiving requests to register domain names. These requests will get processed on October 2nd, official date of the launch of .MIAMI domains. From now until October 1st only existing trademarks may get a .MIAMI domain name. Other cities like New York and London with more than one year of operations have more than 50,000 domains under registration. ".MIAMI is a very interesting new domain. The City Government has supported this initiative that took more than two years to complete. This is a great opportunity for companies and individuals that have businesses targeting or related to Miami. Time will tell if this new extension becomes a major destination for Internet travelers as well as for Miami visitors. Domains may be requested at www.hellodotmiami.com . The fees per year start at USD 23.99 with some domains considered premium being priced at a higher rate.
