Resilient Systems Joins the OASIS Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Technical Committee

Resilient Systems, the leading Incident Response Platform (IRP) provider, today announced that it has joined the OASIS Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI (News - Alert)) Technical Committee as a Sponsor in support of the continuing development of the STIX, TAXII, and CybOX cyber security standards. OASIS is a nonprofit consortium that drives the development, convergence, and adoption of open standards for the global security industry.

As a Sponsor of the CTI Technical Committee, Resilient Systems will work with global industry peers to develop an industry-wide framework for cyber threat intelligence, advancing critically important standards such as STIX, TAXII and CybOX.

"This framework is crucial for overwhelmed security professionals who need a better way to define and share cyber threat information, and we are proud to serve as a Sponsor of OASIS," said Resilient Systems CEO and co-founder, John Bruce. "We believe strongly in open and transparent framework development and how it can make organizations more resilient in the face of security threats and breaches."

The OASIS Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Technical Committee was chartered to define a set of information representations and protocols to address the need to model, analyze, and share cyber threat itelligence. In the initial phase of technical committee work, three specifications will be transitioned from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the development and standardization under the OASIS open standards process: STIX (Structured Threat Information Expression), TAXII (Trusted Automated Exchange of Indicator Information), and CybOX (Cyber Observable Expression).

The OASIS CTI Technical Committee is now working towards completing the following:

  • Defining composable information sharing services for peer-to-peer, hub-and-spoke, and source subscriber threat intelligence sharing models
  • Developing standardized representations for campaigns, threat actions, incidents, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), indicators, exploit targets, observables and courses of action
  • Developing formal models that allow organizations to develop their own standards-based sharing architecture to meet specific needs

"We are pleased to have Resilient Systems as a Sponsor in the OASIS CTI Technical Committee and look forward to their contributions to the development of new cyber security standards," said Laurent Liscia, OASIS CEO and executive director. "Given their deep expertise in Incident Response technology, we are confident Resilient Systems will add considerable value to our evolving standards framework for cyber threat intelligence."
