Turner Impact Capital Expands Team with Three Executive Hires

Turner Impact Capital is announcing the addition of three new executives to strengthen and expand its team of experienced real estate investment professionals.

Taylor Carvajal, Gabriel Quezada and Roshan (News - Alert) Sonthalia will leverage their broad experience in real estate investment and management to help the firm achieve its mission: creating sustainable solutions for many of today's societal problems by developing and investing in community-enriching real estate in densely-populated, underserved communities.

As Director of Finance, Taylor Carvajal will oversee accounting and financial reporting for the firm, informed by his extensive and diverse experience in real estate finance for The Blackstone Group, Ares Management LLC and other financial institutions and consulting firms. Gabriel Quezada, appointed as Vice President, brings over 12 years of experience in real estate investment across a broad range of asset classes, most recently with AIG Global Real Estate where he focused primarily on multifamily housing investments. Finally, Director and Senior Counsel Roshan Sonthalia will provide legal counsel to the firm. He brings 13 years of transactional experience and was formerly with Canyon Capital Realty Advisors and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he represented a wide range of real estate clients, including private equity funds, developers, buyers, sellers, borrowers and lenders.

One of the nation's largest social impact investment firms, Turner Impact Capital is on course to surpass $1.5 billion in investment potential to help address some of the country's most pervasive social issues- including public education and affordable wokforce housing- through real estate and infrastructure-related solutions.

"Since we launched Turner Impact last year, we've enjoyed remarkable success in our work to improve society while generating strong, risk-adjusted financial returns for our investors," said Bobby Turner, Principal and CEO of Turner Impact Capital. "As we continue to accelerate our efforts and broaden our reach, we're proud to add these three professionals to our team. Taylor, Gabe and Roshan each has an impressive track record, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to apply our scalable, market-driven solutions to deep-seated societal challenges."

Last month, Turner Impact Capital launched the Turner Multifamily Impact Fund, which addresses the critical need for affordable rental housing in major urban markets through the acquisition, preservation and enrichment of workforce housing. The Fund has plans to acquire and manage up to $1 billion of multifamily investments, and recently announced its first acquisition, near Washington, D.C. The firm also manages the Turner-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund in partnership with Agassi Ventures, facilitating the development of best-in-class charter schools in underserved communities across the country; this fund has opened 39 school campuses, with dozens more being planned.
