CMTL Announces Industry Awareness Program for Intel® Approved Memory Products

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CMTL, (www.cmtlabs.com), Computer Memory Test Labs, the industry's leading independent memory product compatibility and functionality testing lab announced that it will launch an industry wide awareness program to educate Intel platform customers the value and necessity for buying memory products that are listed on each Intel specific platform Intel Advanced tested memory list and are Intel Approved.

CMTL's President, John Deters stated, "Intel addition to having passed the rigorous Intel advanced tested memory process, Intel approved memory products (modules, SODIMM's and SSD's) have part numbers with locked down BOM's (Bill of Materials) which is an absolute must to ensure sustained performance, functionality, compatibility and reliability."

Deters further commented, "CMTL is committed to ensure that Intel platform customers are made fully aware of the potentil problems they may face by not buying memory products that are listed on each specific Intel platform approved memory lists for both server and NUC platforms."

CMTL has also determined that it is necessary to send this warning message and educational effort further down the commerce level to system end users. The goal is to have every Intel end user customer require their IT solution provider to configure Intel platform based systems only with Intel advanced tested and approved memory. Unfortunately there are a number system builders who ignore the potential risk of configuring Intel platforms with non Intel approved memory, but they will not ignore the request when it comes from their customer and potentially losing a sale.

About CMTL: Formed in 1996 in conjunction with Intel to perform 3rd party independent memory product compatibility tests on Intel platforms. Intel recommends customers use memory products that have successfully passed the advanced compatibility testing process and are listed on each specific Intel platform approved memory list. Memory products that have not passed Intel's advanced testing process are not supported by Intel and may experience sporadic errors, unstable functionality, performance issues, intermittent speed variations and system crashes.
