ad:tech San Francisco Attracts Top Marketing Industry Leaders and Visionary Speakers


ad:tech, the event for modern marketing and media, today announced that thousands of marketing, advertising, media and technology professionals attended this year's two-day San Francisco conference. Highlights included keynote presentations from best-selling authors Rohit Bhargava and Chris Guillebeau, and Google's (News - Alert) SVP of Ads and Commerce, Sridhar Ramaswamy, as well as ad:tech's announcement of its move to Los Angeles for its 2016 West Coast event.

The Expo Floor featured over 200 exhibitors, sponsors and partners presenting solutions spanning a vast landscape, from programmatic advertising, to mobile marketing, to big data analytics. More than 30 companies sponsored this year's event, including Convirza, HIRO, Teradata (News - Alert) and TalkingData. Fusing marketing and modern technologies, the NEXT area on the Expo Floor featured interactive displays from Reel FX, Skipstone and Vipeline. Meanwhile, The Next Stage hosted three head-to-head startup competitions in the Startup Spotlight Series, where 12 select startups presented in front of judges from Soy Vay, Sephora and T-Mobile (News - Alert). Winners from this year's competition included Retailigence, Vistar Media and Ad Adapted. Finally, think:tech, brought thought leadership to the show floor, with sponsored classes from Tealium, adSage and Centro.



Another event highlight included the honoring of Amanda Richman from Starcom MediaVest Group and Richy Glassberg of Medialets as this year's recipients of the ad:tech Industry Achievement awards. Richman has a proven history of excellence in helping marketers and brands create rich experiences across platforms and content. She has a reputation for motivating clients to embrace digital evolution, which has garnered her industry awards from AdAge, Adweek and iMedia. As COO of Medialets, Glassberg brings over two decades of experience across a wide range of digital advertising, sales and operations disciplines. Previously, he launched CNN.com's advertising business, was a co-founder of the IAB, served as the executive vice president of ad sales for Lionsgate/TV Guide, ran News Corp's (News - Alert) speed channel ad sales after the acquisition, and was the founder/CEO of Phase2Media, one of the first online sales and marketing firms dedicated to exclusive representation of branded sites. Richman and Glassberg join the ranks of past recipients and industry leaders, including Rishad Tobaccowala, Tim Armstrong and Carolyn Everson.

ad:tech San Francisco also featured rich content and presentations, spanning everything from the latest programmatic secrets, to new tactics for influencer marketing, to insider tips about social platforms. Keynote speaker Ramaswamy of Google used the ad:tech stage to announce its new product TrueView, while author of Non-Obvious, Bhargava, spoke to attendees about spotting non-obvious trends by asking the questions that most trend predictors miss. Meanwhile, Guillebeau, author of Happiness of Pursuit and The $100 Startup, touched on how to rewrite the rules of work to create your own future. The stage also featured keynote speakers from The Guardian North America, Charles Schwab & Co., eatbigfish, Digitas (News - Alert), InterContinental Hotels Group PLC, Macys.com, GroupM Interaction North America, Davis & Gilbert, American Licorice Company, The Wall Street Journal, Skeet.TV & Dash Radio, PointBurst, Rubicon Project and TrueCar. In total, the conference featured five keynote sessions and included more than 30 breakout sessions featuring specialized content in tech, entertainment and more.
