CEA Urges Support of Senate E-Warranty ActThe following statement can be attributed to Veronica O'Connell, vice president of government and political affairs, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, regarding the E-Warranty Act of 2015, which is scheduled for mark-up today during the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation executive session: "We applaud and thank Senators Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) for introducing this bipartisan legislation to modernize warranty requirements by allowing manufacturers to post warranties online. The E-Warranty Act of 2015 is a common sense bill that directs the Federal Trade Commission to give manufacturers the option to meet legal notice requirements by posting warranties on their companies' websites-reducing paper usage, helping the environment, cutting costs and providing consumers easy access to product warranties.
