Glow Launches Support for Male Fertility

Glow, a data science company that focuses on reproductive health and education, announced today the launch of support for male fertility within its namesake smartphone app, Glow. Additionally they released that since launching in August 2013, Glow has aided more than 50,000 pregnancies and is 40% more effective in helping women and couples conceive (compared to women who do not track with Glow).

According to The National Infertility Association, 1 in 8 couples in the United States struggle with infertility - but men are often less likely to seek medical help than women.

"Unfortunately fertility struggles aren't always considered a couple's issue, even though male infertility accounts for about 40 percent of cases," said Mike Huang, CEO of Glow. "We're excited to offer important insights and education to both men and women to help them conceive."

The new product is designed to give men the opportunity to better understand their reproductive health and gain insights into how they can increase their fertility. The smartphone app makes it easy to log daily activities and lifestyle information, then crunches the data to give men personalized, scientifically-backed information to help better inform their decisions, boh big and small.

"Fertility is a team sport," said Dr. Michael Eisenberg, Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Stanford University and Glow medical advisor. "Men should better understand what impacts their fertility, and Glow makes the process approachable by giving users daily insights and actionable data."

Glow, and its new male fertility release, is available for free in the Apple (News - Alert) App Store and Google Play worldwide. The Glow app is integrated with Apple Health and Google Fit. More information can be accessed within the app and at www.glowing.com.

Building on the new male fertility feature, Glow also announced partnerships with two of the largest and most esteemed fertility clinics in the country: Boston IVF and Shady Grove Fertility. "Partnering with Glow allows us to more quickly provide innovative mobile apps that will enhance the patient experience," states Alan Penzias, MD, of Boston IVF and Director of Fellowship Program in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harvard Medical School. Patients will soon have access to a personalized version of Glow that supports them as they navigate fertility treatments, supplementing the experience for those users who are working with fertility specialists at Boston IVF and Shady Grove Fertility.
