Yota Devices Taps Psyx Research Earprint Technology to Improve Sound and User Experience on Innovative YotaPhone 2 SmartphonePsyx Research, Inc., a company that is pioneering audio technologies to improve hearing and the listening experience, has been tapped by Yota Devices to include its adaptive Earprint technology in the YotaPhone 2, the world's first "two-front" smartphone. Yota Devices will be embedding Earprint in its groundbreaking YotaPhone 2, allowing users to benefit from an "always on" enhanced listening experience while reducing listening fatigue in all audio passing through the smartphone. Psyx is leveraging Qualcomm's Hexagon DSP Access program to provide deep integration in the firmware, offering benefits of lower power, better concurrency and more computational headroom for additional tasks. Nearly all music content played through mobile, tablet or laptop device is compressed, including YouTube (News - Alert), Spotify, web browsing and downloaded songs. Compression allows for smaller files but the process damages the cntent, providing only a fraction of the actual original music, and adding digital artifacts. In addition to the YotaPhone 2 integration, Psyx Research is introducing the same technology as an app, now available for Apple and Android smart phones. The basic Earprint app is available for free and a professional version is $4.99. Through the app, the user can choose one Earprint color profile that sounds best to them, and Earprint will remember the choice the next time the song is played.
