IPsoft acquires Swedish IT professional services firm to support rapid growth in Nordics.

IPsoft, the world-leading provider of automation solutions, today announced that it was expanding its capabilities in EMEA by acquiring prestige Swedish IT professional services firm, ab1 Group AB. The extended capabilities will enable IPsoft to capitalize on the high regional demand for implementation of its autonomic platform, IPcenter.

The 50-strong team of consultants at ab1, has more than 700 years of collective experience in guiding companies through complex IT transformation. Their skills will help accelerate the successful transition of IPcenter clients to automation-enabled IT operating models.

"Cognitive and autonomic technologies are beginning to yield step gains in the Nordic market. To harness their potential fully, legacy manually intensive operational models need to be transformed into a robotic assembly line for consistent delivery," said Chetan Dube, President and CEO of IPsoft. "ab1 has demonstrated distinction in business consulting and transformations. By coupling these skills with our expert systems technologies, we can together deliver unparalleled 60% automation gains in both cost and effectiveness of the IT solutions."

"Our team is tremendously excited at the prospect of joining forces with the leading name in automation, IPsoft," said Erik Danielsson, CEO of ab1. "We work with many of the largest firms in Sweden to help them devise and implement IT strategies that deliver clear business value. Over the past 18 months, we have seen their appetite for automation explode as they embark on growth strategies that demand a new efficiency paradigm. The acquisition places us firmly at the heart of a massive change in approach sweeping the industry."

Commenting on the high interest in automation in the Nordic market, Tom Reuner, Principal Analyst at Ovum (News - Alert) said, "Customers in the Nordics continue to be early adopters of innovative products and services - and their willingness to embrace autonomics is no exception. In order to get to higher levels of process efficiencies, technologies such as those provided by IPsoft, need to be part of transformational projects. Acquiring local transformational capabilities will be a platform to further accelerate adoption."

Together, IPsoft and ab1, provide direct support for more than 50 of Sweden's largest organizations including Teliasonera, IKEA and Ericsson (News - Alert) as well as public sector institutions including Stockholm Stad (the city of Stockholm) and Skatteverket (the Swedish tax agency). The change in ownership will interlock skills and abilities across the two business units and service will remain uninterrupted for existing ab1 clients. Moving forward, ab1 will continue to offer its full portfolio of services, ranging from IT strategy and sourcing consultancy, to IT transformation and management.

IPcenter is IPsoft's ITIL-aligned service management platform that leverages the power of autonomics to increase efficiency and quality. It provides a cadre of "virtual engineers" that work together in order to automate end-to-end tasks. On average IPcenter processes 56% of all events without any human intervention and reduces meantime to resolution by more than 60%. Customers typically see a 35% efficiency improvement in operations within 90 days.
