Having donated more than 3,000 domestic/family sized environmentally friendly Envirofit #CleanCookStoves to the people of Nepal since 2010, the Himalayan Stove Project plans to deliver its next container of family and institutional stoves to its facilitating partners later this year. The organization has initiated a campaign to raise funds for C#3.  Donations can be made, and the Gift Day Pck claimed, through a "social good" fundraising platform on the HSP website at http://himalayanstoveproject.causevox.com/.

"Household Air Pollution caused by #PrimitiveCooking, causes 4.3 million premature deaths each year, which is more than malaria, HIV-Aids and tuberculosis combined. #PrimitiveCooking is also a major contributor of black-carbon emissions which drastically accelerates #Global Warming and glacial ice-melt," says Himalayan Stove Project founder George "Chief Cook" Basch. "This powerful online fundraising tool and the limitless potential of social media networking, will allow us to exponentially increase support for, and awareness of, the Himalayan Stove Project.

"With the new institutional stoves and our continuing family/domestic stove program we will protect hundreds more people in the region this year from Household Air Pollution, and shield the environment from the negative impacts of #PrimitiveCooking; a fitting recognition of #EarthMonth."

The Himalayan Stove Project is helping meet the estimated need in the Nepal Himalayas for more than 1,000,000 #CleanCookStoves. Watch the informative video of the organization's effort here. (on their website at www.himalayanstoveproject.org
