Ellucian Draws More Than 8,800 Attendees at Ellucian Live 2015 in New Orleans

Ellucian, the leading global provider for higher education software and services, has attracted more than 8,800 registered attendees to Ellucian Live 2015 in New Orleans, making it the world's largest user conference in higher education.

This year, Ellucian Live is serving as a platform for the company to make industry-shifting announcements around its cloud-based products and the future of its ERP systems, Banner® by Ellucian and Colleague® by Ellucian, which power many colleges and universities around the globe.

As part of Ellucian's commitment to student success, the company is announcing the major acquisition of a next generation, cloud-only competency-based education learning management system, along with the launch of a development partner program.

The week-long conference features over 800 presentations as well as guest keynotes by Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy, Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, and Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist Steve Wozniak (News - Alert), who shared the stage with new Ellucian president and chief executive officer, Jeff Ray. The role of Ellucian's technologies in helping institutions achieve student success is a major point of conversation this year.

Acquisition of Next Generation Competency Based ducation LMS, Launch of Development Partner Program

Ellucian has acquired Helix Education's competency-based education LMS and introduced a 2015 development partner program to collaborate with customers on the next-generation, cloud-only solution.

As the non-traditional student stands to make up a significant majority of learners by 2019, Ellucian is investing in technologies that align with priorities of colleges and universities it serves. CBE programs offer a promising new way for institutions to reduce the cost and time of obtaining a high-quality degree that aligns with the skills required by today's employers.

Banner and Colleague in the Cloud in 2016

Ellucian is announcing that Banner and Colleague, two of the most widely-used ERP systems in higher education, will be available as cloud-based systems by the end of 2016.
