Drive, Inc. Announces Summer Technology Program Benefitting Local Teens


CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Drive, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship and technology skills, announces its summer technology camps with partnerships throughout the community. The one-of-a-kind Summer Technology Camps include several curriculums including web design, javascript coding and computer science.  The camps are offered throughout the Charlotte region including programs at Philip O'Berry Academy of Technology, St. Gabriel Catholic School, Behailu Academy and Project 658 Center. 

At the Web Design Camp, students will discover the power of coding by creating their own websites using HTML and CSS coding languages. During the JavaScript Coding Camp students will learn to code in the JavaScript Coding language.  With these skills students will begin to learn how to use JavaScript to create interactive websites. Middle school students at the Computer Science Camp will discover the power of computer science while creating their own computer games.  Each day student will create different projects that will open their eyes to th exciting world of computer science. Each of the camps is open enrollment and students can register on the Drive, Inc. website.

During the yearly Drive program, students explore and celebrate the phenomenon of entrepreneurship and learn necessary skills in technology.  These skills include proficiencies in coding, web design and social media development. This program integrates finance, marketing, ethics and the foundations that have made our country great, as it applies to the business world.
