State of Texas Selects Intrado for 9-1-1 Database Management and NENA i3 Services

Intrado (News - Alert), a leading provider of 9-1-1 technology solutions and a subsidiary of West Corporation, announced today that the Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) has selected Intrado as the supplier of Automatic Location Information Data Base Management Services (ALI DBMS) for participating Regional Planning Commissions (RPC) 9-1-1 Programs representing over 250 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across the state. The contract award also includes Intrado Location Validation Function (LVF) services, a key component of the National Emergency Number Association's (NENA) i3 standard for Next-Generation 9-1-1.

Intrado has been the supplier of ALI DBMS services to CSEC and the RPC 9-1-1 Programs since 2003.

"We have enjoyed a long and positive relationship with CSEC, the RPCs and the entire 9-1-1 community in Texas," said Steve Lowe, Intrado senior vice president and general manager. "We're honored that the RPCs and CSEC have expressed confidence in Intrado by extending that relationship into the future, and we look forward to continuing to work together as the state of Texas transitions to Next-Generation 9-1-1 services."

CSEC issued a detailed Request for Offer (RFO) for these services in May, 2014. The CSEC and the RPCs ultimately selected Intrado as the vendor best able to mee their requirements.

"The CSEC and the RPCs look forward to working with Intrado to continue to provide the highest quality 9-1-1 location information to our PSAPs," said Kelli Merriweather, CSEC Executive Director. "At the same time, we are also looking toward the future with our plans to transition to geospatial location and, ultimately, NG9-1-1."
