What's Your Genius? OZY Media Has Up to $10,000 for You to Make It Happen

OZY, the first and favorite source for the Change Generation, will this summer grant stipends of up to $100,000 to college students with a genius idea who need help getting started. Called the OZY Genius Awards, the global competition is sponsored by Credit Suisse and presented in cooperation with affordable education pioneer Chegg Inc.

"We believe more is possible and we love backing big ideas," said Carlos Watson, OZY co-founder and CEO. "Why waste another summer when you have a chance to make a difference? We're expecting a broad range of potential projects - maybe you're the next Harper Lee or Spike Lee or Stephen Hawking or Markus Persson or Beyoncé."

Write a book. Film a documentary. Start a company. Create a non-profit. Invent a crazy breakthrough. Do something truly extraordinary with OZY's help. OZY.com journalists will follow the progress of each finalist during their projects and will report on their successes this Fall.

"Supporting talented people and great business ideas is core to our mission, and that's why we're so proud to be supporting the OZY Genius (News - Alert) Awards," said Pamela Thomas-Graham, Chief Marketing and Talent Officer of Credit Suisse and head of the bank's New Markets business, which seeks to accelerate economic opportunity among women, African-Americans and the LGBT community. "OZY seeks to do what the Credit Suisse Entrepreneurs Circle does, what our LGBT Equality Index and Portfolio does, what our Real Returns program for women does: To say, 'We recognize talent of all kinds, we want to support people and businesses doing great things, and we want to create value for individuals, for businesses and for society as a result.'"

For 2015, OZY Genius Awards of between $3,000 and $10,000 will be awarded to up to 10 currently enrolled undergraduate students in pursuit of their genius project. In future years, the competition will focus on other groups pursuing their genius.

To enter, go to www.ozygenius.com and describe your project before April 18th. The competition's distinguished judges include social and education activist Laurene Powell Jobs and Google (News - Alert) executive David Drummond. Winners will be notified in May and OZY.com journalists will track their progress and produce a documentary on the recipients' work. Recipients will report back on their achievements at the end of the summer.
