Casio Clocks In With Six New Timepieces At Baselworld 2015

MESSE BASEL, Switzerland, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc. is proud to unveil six new additions to its line of high-performance timepieces. New G-SHOCK, EDIFICE, PRO TREK and BABY-G timepieces join the growing Casio collection and will be on display for the first time at Baselworld 2015 in Switzerland from March 19-26 in Hall 1.2.

"There is no better place to showcase Casio's newest timepieces to the watch and jewelry trade industry than at Baselworld, the largest international watch and jewelry trade show in the world," said Shigenori Itoh, CEO and President of Casio America, Inc. "These timepieces are an exciting addition to our already extensive G-SHOCK, EDIFICE, PRO TREK and BABY-G lines, which are designed to provide consumers with quality watches that offer the Casio performance, versatility, and style that they can trust and be proud to wear."

New product highlights include:

G-SHOCK
During Basel, Casio will introduce three new G-SHOCK watches including the GPW-1000T, GWG-1000, and MRG-G1000RT. Casio's GPW-1000T includes the latest hybrid timekeeping system. The main parts, including the bezel and back of the case, are made of lightweight, rust-resistant titanium. It weighs approximately 10% less than its predecessor, the GPW-1000, yet maintains the distinct feel of metal. The bezel is made from hard Ti64 alloy to resist stresses to this part of the watch, making for a rugged and scratch-resistant design.

Casio's GWG-1000 is constructed to withstand working amid mud and rubble. Its buttons are protected against the entry of mud, to ensure that essential functions are available at all times. The watch also offers vibration resistance to withstand driving on rough roads or other heavy duty operations. The GWG-1000 has large hour and minute hands, large index marks and a front button, a compass bearing readout to help users pinpoint the right direction, as well as a barometer which is useful for predicting weather changes.

The new G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT features an advanced timekeeping system that receives both Global Positioning System (GPS) and radio wave time-calibration signals and it has Dual Dial World Time, which simultaneously displays the time intwo different cities. The design of the MRG-G1000RT is developed under the theme of "Made in Japan," to express the proud origins of G-SHOCK. Inspired by the nie pattern that is characteristic of Japanese swords, the bezel and metal plate are made from Ti64 alloy hardened by a recrystallization process which gives the bezel and metal plate a rich finish. This watch also features gold-colored front screws and index marks on the watch face, and a deep "Japan blue" DLC coating.

* Ti64 is a type of alloy made from 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium.

PRO TREK PRW-3500
Based on the PRW-3000, the new PRW-3500 will be the first PRO TREK model to feature Triple Sensor, Ver. 3 and 200-meter water resistance. Designed for a wide variety of outdoor scenes, the PRW-3500 is easy to operate even while wearing gloves, thanks to its large buttons with non-slip surfaces and a register ring that has been designed for easy gripping. The watch lets the user effortlessly check— and even record—all the needed information on outdoor conditions.

This new model also comes with all the standard PRO TREK features including: an atmospheric pressure tendency alarm that notifies the wearer of sudden swings in atmospheric pressure; a Tough Solar power system that charges the watch even in dim light; a full auto LED backlight that illuminates in the dark with a tilt of the wrist; and Multi Band 6 technology for receiving time-calibration signals transmitted from six stations around the world.

EDIFICE EQB-510/ECB-500
The new EDIFICE EQB-510 and ECB-500 are based on the Smartphone Link EQB-500, which enables users to easily set the time to more than 300 cities worldwide from a smartphone app. This capability means that both the analog-style EQB-510 and digital-analog style ECB-500 make it even easier to set the world time. Designed for business users, these watches feature multi-dimensional, high-contrast watch faces that clearly present both the local time and one world time at a glance. Users can also easily switch the time displayed on the inset dial to the main dial and vice versa, either from the watch or a smartphone, to view the local time on the main hour and minute hands while traveling and the home time on the inset dial.

BABY-G BGA-190
The BABY-G BGA-190 watches are designed for active women who travel the globe. The watches are equipped with Dual Dial World Time, which simultaneously shows Home Time and World Time using the main minute/hour hands and an inset dial at the six o'clock position. When traveling, the time at home can be viewed at a glance on the inset dial in addition to the local time clearly indicated by the main minute/hour hands. These features are perfect for women who need to communicate across time zones. The minute hand on the inset dial at the six o'clock position is shaped like a plane, encouraging the wearer to take off on her own adventure. Casio's BGA-190 watches are inspired by the beaches of the world and are designed in three colors: Black, Orange and White.

Casio's new G-SHOCK, PRO TREK, EDIFICE and BABY-G watches will be sold in continental Europe, the UK, North America, South America, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and other Asian locations, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania.
