Primacy's Melissa Tait to Present on Technology Innovations in Health Care at SXSW Interactive Future15 Program

Independent agency Primacy today announced that Melissa Tait, senior vice president of technology and project management, will present at the South by Southwest (SXSW (News - Alert)) Interactive Festival during the Future15 program. Held on March 14, 2015 at 4:15pm CT at the Austin Convention Center in Ballroom C, Taint's session, How Cool Gadgets Can Save the World, will cover how technology like Google (News - Alert) Glass, BLE Beacons, NFC, virtual reality, gesture recognition and wearables are changing the health care experience.

"With the emergence of new technologies, there is a huge opportunity for patients to take a more proactive role in their lives and start adopting a healthier lifestyle," said Tait. "In addition, physicians can use the data collected from these connected devices to help their patients make more informed and, ultimately, better decisions. As we continue to integrate technology into our lives, we can use it to shape and improve the overall health care experience."

Tait will present as part of SXSW Interactive Future15, a series of short, 15-minute solo presentations from industry thought leaders on a wide range of topics including health care technology, mobile technology, digital entertainment, design and devlopment, branding and marketing and social best practices. As one of several Future15 sessions, Tait will focus on how health care providers and patients can leverage new technologies and the data they collect to shift to a more holistic health care experience, as well as touch on the security and privacy concerns of storing this data.

Tait has more than 18 years of experience in interactive marketing, emerging technologies and mobile and social development. She works with a variety of health care clients at Primacy, including Aetna, EmblemHealth, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, St. Charles Health System and Boehringer-Ingelheim, to help them utilize the latest technological innovations to reach and engage with their audiences.

With a technology-agnostic approach, Primacy inspires, ideates and executes screen-agnostic, cross-channel experiences. Primacy's developers are well-versed in mobile development, content management systems, database development, intranets and portals, custom applications, and more. Primacy's Innovation team continues to develop forward-thinking solutions for clients with virtual reality, near-field communication (NFC), voice and gesture recognition, wearables and indoor positioning and contextual messaging. Most recently, as part of Google's Giving through Glass Initiative, Primacy teamed up with 3000 Miles to a Cure to develop a Google Glass race and donation platform, which is helping to raise money for brain cancer research.
