IDG Communications Names Josh London Chief Marketing Officer


International Data Group (IDG)-the world's leading technology media, events and research company - today named Josh London to the newly created position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for IDG Communications. London will lead a global, company-wide amplification of the IDG Communications brand, enhancing the company's reputation as a global tech media, data and services company.

London will direct the corporate worldwide marketing organization and the company's go-to-market strategy to enhance the customer experience at all touch points. Based in New York, London reports to Michael Friedenberg, CEO, IDG Communications Worldwide, and is a member of IDG's executive team.

London joins IDG Communications with more than 20 years of marketing and operating experience. Most recently he was founder and managing partner of Salt Island Ventures, a marketing and management consultancy serving digital, media and entertainment clients. Previously London served as Vice President of Marketing and then Chief Operating Officer at SX2 Media Labs, where he transformed Computer Shopper from a print magazine to a 100% digital property, leading to its acquisition by Ziff Davis and Great Hill Partners. Prior to that, he was an Associate Vice President of Marketing at CNET Networks (News - Alert) and Director of Marketing and Content for ThomasNet, a division of Thomas Publishing Company.

London holds a B.A. in English literature from Boston University. He is a member of the Entrepreneur Board for Venture for America.
