One of North America's Largest Construction Companies Chooses MobileIron for its Mobile Future

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL) today announced that PCL Construction has selected its enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform to secure and manage apps and content on 4,500 mobile devices. At PCL, the largest contracting organization in Canada and sixth largest in the US, it is important for project teams to receive information wherever they are—the field is no exception.

"We needed an EMM platform that could be tailored to our unique infrastructure," said Mark Bryant, Chief Information Officer, PCL. "We evaluated the top EMM providers and it was clear that MobileIron was the best fit for us. The platform stood out because of its customizability and its impressive ecosystem of technology partner integrations."

Transforming Job Sites with Mobility

PCL's construction teams rely on SharePoint and a large number of apps both internally developed and purchased thru the vendor app stores. Electronic touch-screen kiosks throughout job sites provide digital access to updated blueprints so team members don't waste time tracking down the paper versions. Site managers use tablets to access PCL's proprietary systems like the Safety Management Center which provides safety trend-analysis and graphs in real time. Bryant's team is challenged to protect sensitive corporate data while simultaneously providing easy access tocorporate resources.

"We can only realize the benefits of mobile and connected project teams if our people actually use the technology," said Bryant. "MobileIron's certificate enrollment makes it drop dead easy for employees to sign in, and the platform makes it simple for our administrators to provision access to back end resources."

Simplifying Mobility in a Diverse IT Environment

PCL's environment includes Cisco ISE, Office 365, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and System Center Configuration Manager. To effectively secure and manage mobile apps and devices in this diverse landscape, the company needed a comprehensive EMM solution with the ability to extend corporate policies from the endpoint to the data center.

"We are in the midst of moving to Cisco access points and MobileIron's integration with Cisco ISE is especially interesting as our infrastructure evolves," said Bryant. "MobileIron works with all the technology platforms that matter to us."

"While we were upgrading our wireless infrastructure, it was identified that we needed to simplify our wireless strategy for our end users," stated Matthew Fellner, Solution Architect, PCL. "Mail configuration, wireless configuration, and connectivity to internal resources as well as a clearly defined company App-Store should be configured when end-users receive their device, or alternatively, if they want to bring in their own device, we would be able to manage those devices as well. Combine this with setting some basic policies and secure settings; it was a clear choice to go with MobileIron."
