Internationally Renowned Speaker and "Data-Driven" Designer Carlo Ratti to Deliver Keynote Address at PASS Business Analytics Conference

MIT (News - Alert) Senseable City Lab director and "data-driven urbanism" pioneer, Carlo Ratti, will join the PASS Business Analytics Conference in Santa Clara, CA, April 20-22, as the Day 1 keynote speaker. Carlo's presentation, which is sponsored by Microsoft (News - Alert), will kick off a stellar lineup of sessions led by global experts in business analytics and data science.

A distinguished civil engineer and architect, Carlo is also at the forefront of efforts to recognize and utilize the impact of data and data analytics, not just in business but in every-day life. A leader in the field of smart-city design, Carlo is the founding partner of Carlo Ratti Associati (CRA), serves on the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council for Urban Management and is a designated member of the Italian Design Council.

Named one of Fast Company's 50 Most Influential Designers in America, he is a forerunner in the practice of translating passive data sets into solutions in urban planning and design. He is a prolific writer and speaker, lecturing on projects and possibilities such as using anonymous, aggregated cellphone data to understand a city and its inhabitants.

"Carlo's creativity ad innovation are unparalleled," says PASS President Thomas LaRock. "We can't wait to hear about his vision for the role of data and data scientists in tomorrow's corporate and cultural landscape."

Carlo joins Day 2 keynote speaker Mico Yuk; a world-class roster of experts from Microsoft, IBM (News - Alert), and other leading companies; and a team of Excel masters. Through 60+ sessions, hands-on labs and expert panels, conference attendees will explore tools and techniques for integrating, analyzing, visualizing and reporting on data, as well as unlocking the power and promise of Big Data. An optional full-day pre-conference on April 20 will feature additional workshops on topics such as Power BI, predictive analytics and data visualization.
