Tripwire Chief Technology Officer to Discuss Critical Infrastructure Cyber Security Threats

Tripwire, Inc., a global provider of advanced threat, security and compliance solutions, today announced that Dwayne Melancon, chief technology officer for Tripwire (News - Alert), will present at The Chertoff Group Security Series. The event takes place March 5, 2015, at the Four Seasons Hotel, Houston, Texas.

The energy sector was plagued by a series of high-profile cyber espionage campaigns in 2014, including Energetic Bear, Regin and Dragonfly. Despite the growing cyber threat environment, a recent Tripwire study revealed that 88 percent of energy IT professionals are "not confident" in the secure configuration of industrial controllers.

These energy specific cyber threats have the ptential to cause outages and illustrate the importance of maintaining robust cyber security programs. In this session, panelists will provide real-world insight and expertise on the protection of critical energy assets.

In addition to Melancon, other panel members will include Marc Blackmer, product marketing manager for industry solutions at Cisco; Ronald (J.R.) Brown, identity and access management design lead and senior process advisor at ExxonMobil; and Faizel Lakhani, chief operating officer at SS8.
