SAIC Awarded $62 Million Task Order By SPAWAR


MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) awarded Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAIC) a task order to provide architecture and systems engineering support services to the Office of the Chief Engineer (CHENG) (SPAWAR 5.0), the Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I), the Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD) and many additional C4ISR programs and offices.

The next generation of SAIC

The single-award, cost-plus-fixed-fee task order has a one-year base period of performance, two one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $62 million if all options are exercised. The task order was awarded under the SeaPort-e contracting vehicle, and most of this work will be performed in San Diego, California. Work will also be performed in Charleston, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; and Washington D.C.

Under the task order, SAIC will provide systems architecture, mission engineering analysis, interoperability assessments, systems engineering, configuration management, and technical management services to SPAWAR. This includes engineering support for: verification, validation, and certification; systems engineering; software and network engineering; cost engineering and economic analysis; reliability and systems safety assurance engineering and analysis; integration and inteoperability; and future capabilities and engineering support for various C4ISR programs/projects.



The CHENG SPAWAR 5.0 sets engineering standards, processes, and policies and ensures availability of skilled engineering personnel with the knowledge, technical skills, and abilities to execute SPAWAR programs and projects and support full-spectrum life cycle C4ISR capabilities. Supported by SPAWAR and industry partners, PEO C4I acquires, fields and supports C4I systems that extend across Navy, joint and coalition platforms, including managing acquisition programs and projects across all C4I disciplines. Based in San Diego, SPAWAR's FRD installs, supports and modernizes the Navy's C4I hardware and systems.
