Austin Technology Council Board of Directors Elects Board Chair Mark McClain and Vice Chair Lynn Atchison


The Austin Technology Council (ATC) today announced the appointment of Mark McClain, CEO and founder of SailPoint, as Chair and Lynn Atchison, CFO of HomeAway, as Vice Chair of the ATC Board of Directors. The board also welcomes new director Paul Beverly, EVP and CMO of Gemalto (News - Alert) and long-time Austin technology leader.

Mark McClain has served on the ATC board for three years, playing an instrumental role in developing and driving the current ATC tech priorities and roadmap. His technology leadership experience is distinct and well-established, having led SailPoint from its inception to being named the fastest growing identity access management (IAM) company and recognized as the global leader in its market. He also founded Waveset Technologies, which sold to Sun Microsystems (News - Alert) in 2003, and brings to bear over 20 years of innovative technology experience and the respect of his peers around Austin and across the tech industry. With his commitment and passion for building top-performing teams and creating a collaborative and innovative work environment, McClain is ideally suited to drive collaboration and effectiveness at ATC.

Serving on the ATC board since 2012, Lynn Atchison played a key role in the recent development of the Austin Technology Partnership, a joint initiative between ATC and the City of Austin. Currently the CFO of HomeAway, one of Austin's largest and fastest growing technology companies, Atchison brings nearly 30 years of finance and operations experience and two "CFO of the Year" awards to the Vice Chair position.

"It's time to move the needle and really make a difference in the areas that are critical to Austin tech, and the larger economic engine of Central Texas," said Atchison. "We poised ourselves to think bigger and now we possess that bigger vision. It's time to impact and implement effective programs that will provide benefits for our businesses, economy, and communities - and put Austin at the forefront of the global stage as the model innovation-based economy."


Paul Beverly, EVP and CMO for Gemalto, is the newest member of the esteemed ATC Board of Directors. Having spent over 20 years in starting and managing technology businesses in the U.S. and Europe, Beverly was on the founding executive team that spun-out the eTransactions division of Schlumberger and successfully IPO'd to form Gemalto, the world leader in Digital Security with revenues of $3 billion, serving a blue chip client base. Gemalto enables trust for the growing number of people using its solutions to interact with the digital and wireless world. He has been deeply involved in the Austin high-tech industry throughout his career, serving on the boards of the Global Smart Card Industry, Austin Technology Incubator, and Austin Chamber of Commerce.
