SigmaCare Unveils Complete ePrescribing Solution to Enable LTPAC Providers to Comply with New York State ePrescribing Mandate

SigmaCare, a leading electronic health record (EHR) partner for long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) and senior living providers, today announced that it has launched a complete ePrescribing solution, enabling providers to address critical workflows required for compliance with the New York State ePrescribing Mandate, effective March 27, 2015.

With SigmaCare's ePrescribing solution, LTPAC providers can now meet the new workflow requirements required by the mandate, such as direct physician sign-off for all prescriptions, including controlled and non-controlled substances. By leveraging a mobile application within SigmaCare's ePrescribing solution, physicians can receive order requests, view resident information and sign off on orders from anywhere, driving timely approvals and eliminating dispensing delays. SigmaCare's solution also includes ePrescribing of discharge retail prescriptions, also required by the mandate. This feature allows providers to send discharge scrpts to retail pharmacies when residents are discharged to improve medication adherence.

By leveraging the SigmaCare ePrescribing solution, LTPAC providers will be able to comply with three critical workflows required by the New York State ePrescribing Mandate, including:

• Prescriber sign off on all orders before the pharmacy can dispense;
• Electronic prescribing of discharge scripts to retail pharmacies; and
• Electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS).
