QPCM Certification Now Offers RNs a Fast Track to a Career in Case Management

At the start of 2015, many New Years' resolutions will focus on new career directions. Nurses tired of bedside nursing may now enter the growing profession of case management as a result of the following opportunities:

  • QPCM, the first nationally recognized education-based certification in case management allows clinically experienced RNs a valid and reliable method to demonstrate their competency to perform as entry level case managers. With three years of recent clinical experience plus formal education in case management, registered nurses can make the career move into case management without specific job experience in case management;
  • The white paper, "Outlook for Careers in Case Management," is now available at www.QPCM.com. This paper addresses the prognosis for the case management career path in the coming years i.e. the reasons why case managers will be in increasing demand, the rewards of this profession, and the fastest, most cost-effective process for RNs to become case managers.

Prior to introduction of the QPCM certification, clinically experienced nurses could not get case management jobs without experience and they could not get experience without previously working as a case manager. This is the classic Catch-22. They also could not get certified in the case management field without direct work experience in case management. With a QPCM certification, clinical nurses now have a fast track to this new and rewarding career path.

Case managers assist medically complex patients to navigate the intricacies of the evolving healthcare system. They assist in coordinating transitions of care for individuals with complicated medical needs and balance these needs between the patient's quality of care and the cost of their current and future healthcare requirements. Demand is exploding for case management professionals as aging Americans require more healthcare, healthcare reform creates the need for a higher level of care coordination, and healthcare quality competes with increasing costs.

About QPCM - Qualified Professional Case Manager

Because the QPCM certification is based on targeted education in case management it offers aspiring case managers third party validation of their ability to perform as competent entry level case managers. Hiring Authorities now hire QPCM certified professionals with the confidence that these QPCM CERTIFIED case managers are thoroughly educated in the core competencies of case management.
