Health Choice and Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority Awarded Integrated Behavioral Health ContractHealth Choice, the managed care solutions division of IASIS Healthcare LLC, and the Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority (NARBHA), today announced that the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has awarded a Regional Behavioral Health Authority contract to Health Choice Integrated Care, a joint venture formed by Health Choice and NARBHA. Under the agreement with ADHS, Health Choice Integrated Care will cover both physical and behavioral health services for approximately 6,000 Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) members with serious mental illness in Mohave, Coconino, Apache, Navajo, Gila, Yavapai and portions of Graham counties. The contract also covers the general behavioral healthcare needs of 225,000 members in the region. The contract will commence on October 1, 2015 and has an initial three-year term, with the State having two optional two-year extensions. Health Choice Integrated Care's healthcare management model is designed to complement the State of Arizona's commitment to providing "whole-person" healthcare services that focus on both physical and emotional wellbeing, and that take unique factors such as lifestyle and cultural values into consideration. Northern Arizona AHCCCS members with serious mental illness will benefit from enhanced access to integrated behavioral and acute providers, dedicated coordination of care, and improved quality outcomes. Current NARBHA members will not be required to change behavioral health providers.
