SEAL Future Fund Awards Multiple Active and Veteran Navy SEALs Academic Scholarships

The SEAL Future Fund (SFF), a non-profit organization created by former SEAL team members to support continuing education and career development for active and veteran Navy SEALs, announced today that it has awarded its inaugural scholarships to nine qualified candidates. Applicants could submit for qualification throughout the year with resources and guidance provided by the SEAL Future Fund organization. The scholarship recipients and their respective schools are as follows:

  1. Kris R., The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
  2. Sean F., The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
  3. Michael L., The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
  4. Robert H., The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
  5. John P., Harvard Business School
  6. Thomas M., MIT (News - Alert) Sloan School of Management
  7. Andrew S., Louisiana State University in Shreveport
  8. Coleman M., Southern Illinoi University
  9. Anthony R., Brandman University

"I will tackle my future career with the same effort I put towards defending our country. But I, like many veterans, experience a massive financial burden when pursuing the education required to transition successfully from the military to a civilian career," said Thomas M., scholarship winner. "The SFF removes that barrier by reducing the Post 9/11 GI Bill's financial gap. This does not just help veterans like me; every dollar spent on a veteran adds seven dollars to our economy¹. I can't thank the SFF enough for supporting me in crossing the finish line."

The SEAL Future Fund's efforts extend beyond scholarships. It also ensures that these highly trained leaders transition their capabilities into civilian career opportunities through networking and job placement, internships, mentorship programs, and other educational assistance efforts. The SEAL Future Fund provides Navy SEALs with countless pathways to success within the communities they fought so hard to protect.

¹The GI Bill helped reinvent America after a half-decade of war; a 1988 Congressional study found that every dollar spent on educational benefits under the original GI Bill added seven dollars to the national economy in terms of productivity, consumer spending and tax revenue.
