Derive Systems Names David Thawley President and CEO to Lead the Company's Transformation

Derive Systems, a leading software company customizing a vehicle's performance, announced today that its Board of Directors has named David Thawley as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Thawley joins Derive Systems with a wealth of experience from running eBay (News - Alert) Motors Automotive Parts and Accessories, founding two startups, to six years in the U.S. Air Force. As Derive's new CEO, Thawley will drive innovation and accelerate the growth of the Derive brands.

Thawley's appointment is the next step in Derive's evolution. Derive was created when two leading automotive software companies, SCT Performance and Bully Dog Acquisition, merged. Derive serves as the shared resource and technology platform for the SCT, Bully Dog and Derive Efficiency brands.

With Thawley's appointment, SCT CEO, Rick Trudo will transition into an advisory role in 2015 and support the international plan for the SCT and Bully Dog brands.

"Before retiring from the business, I needed a strong succession plan to lead Derive; Dave was my pick. Thawley earned a BS from the United States Air Force Academy, an MS from the Air Force Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
