Atheer Secures Former Nokia and Vertu Design Chief to Lead Design and User Experience

Atheer, the company pioneering Augmented interactive Reality (AiR) by combining the power of 3D augmented reality with gesture-based interaction, today announced it has retained Frank Nuovo, former Chief of Design at Nokia (News - Alert) and Vertu, creator of the futuristic communication devices for the movie Minority Report, and Founder of Design Studio Nuovo, to lead creative as Chief Designer. With more than two decades of global award-winning industrial design and user interaction experience, Nuovo will work with the team to lead Atheer's design strategy as it introduces a new class of 3D smart glasses - a platform to power productive workflows for the workforce of the 21st century.

In his new capacity leading design, Nuovo, with the added horsepower of his Design Studio Nuovo, will be responsible for creating innovative product designs and experiences. He brings 25 years of design expertise to Atheer, including 16 years leading design at Nokia Corporation, where he spent 11 years as VP and Chief of Design, he built Nokia's first in-house global design organization and le creation of hundreds of products, including the Nokia 1100 series, which has shipped over 250 million units, the most of any mobile phone or consumer electronics device in the world. Nuovo's leadership established the core brand and product designs and creative strategy at Vertu, recently also for Orbitsound and Spaced 360 and the Meta Smartwatch and brand. His career includes extensive work as Design Director for BMW's Designworks/USA, Founder of Datzing, and advisory roles for Samsung (News - Alert), Kubi, Tylt and a host of other startups.
